Why we're doing this ourselves
Our first two records went through a label, and we watched most of what we made go to recoup an advance we never asked for. This time we wrote, recorded, and mixed "Low Tide" entirely on our own terms — which means we also have to fund what comes after mixing.
Pressing plants have year-long backlogs and require payment up front. That's the biggest line item here, and the reason this campaign exists instead of a quiet Bandcamp release.
If we hit the goal, the record gets pressed and mailed by early spring. If we pass it, the overage covers a proper tour instead of the four dates we can currently afford.
Nothing about this is a maybe — the songs are done and mastered. We're only crowdfunding the manufacturing, not the making.
